Organisms that improve soil productivity

A good soil contains billionaires of living organisms, this oragnism helps in breaking down of dead materials into nutrients which is needed by the plant. This organisms which help in breaking down of this nutrient are called decomposer.

This organism are classified into two based on their size Aq

Micro organisms : are organisms that cannot be seen with the naked eye it require the use of microscope to be able to see them they include fungi and bacteria which are mrajor decomposer in the environment.

Macro organisms : are organisms that is visible to the ordinary eye this organisms include earthworms termite insecjbubts millipedes e.t.c

Fungal

The fungi decompose the dead matter and draw nutrients from it by releasing enzymes in the environment to help to break down the litter. The enzymes release by the fungi breaks down the dead matter in the process of digesting it, which is absorbed by the fungi.

Mushrooms are good examples of fungi they are not plants saprophytic they do not posses photosynthesis they absorb their food by breaking down the dead matter by releasing enzymes which is been taken up by the mushroom

Bacteria

Bacterias are microrganism in the soil, they are the main organism which help in breaking down large organic matter into nutrients needed for the growth of the plant and they also help in cycling of some necceesary nutrients like carbon nutrient phosphorus

Earthworms

Earthworms recycle nutrients
Worms are hungry little creatures and have the capacity to eat their own body weight in food every day!

Amongst other things, their diet consists of:
dead plants,
fallen leaves,
fungi, bacteria and
even dead animals.
When they eat, worms break down and recycle this organic matter within the soil which helps naturally fertiliser the earth and ensure it’s packed with vital nutrients.

Research has shown that soils without earthworms can be 90% less effective at soaking up water. This means water run-off increases which can lead to erosion and in some cases flooding.

Insect

Insects like Flies, dung beetles, maggots, and ants are the insects that help in carrying out the process of decomposition in the ecology

They acts on Dead or decaying plant tissues, Dead animals or tissue-feeding insects
Excrement-feeding insects like Arthropods

Conclusion

There should be conscious practice that involved the  improvement of soil organism activities which  improving the soil structure, soil nutrients capability etc which leads to increasement soil productivity
